ONLINE COURSES

Through the use of a wide variety of state-of-the art technologies and tools, Sacramento State students have the ability to access a diverse offering of online courses and learning opportunities.  These online learning opportunities can be part of the Distance and Distributed Education Program or supplement  traditional on-site classroom learning.  Types of online learning courses at Sac State include:

  • Web (or Online) Courses

  • Web-enhanced Courses

  • Web-assisted Courses

Sac State’s primary delivery system for online learning is the  WebCT Learning Management System. WebCT features include integrated communication tools, quizzing and testing, gradebook integration and posting, content management, and the ability to import a wide variety of data, visual and audio resources into the course.

ATCS provides staff assistance, documentation, training  and a variety of resources for faculty and staff developing online courses.  Assistance is available to help online course developers to select appropriate technology and develop structures for online courses, and a variety of online forms are available to assist developers in getting started.

The Division of  Information Resources Technology provides student WebCT support to enrolled Sac State students.
