FACULTY WEB

About

Use the Faculty Website Template to create a professional web site that your students can access to view and download course material, learn about the courses you teach and other information about you. Modifying the template is easy, simply change the existing sections with content specific to you and your user's needs. The template includes sections that faculty typically need, such as: contact information, course information, course calendars, and vitae.

Template Download

Template

Click the following link to download the Faculty Web template: Download Template.

Calendars

Visit the course Calendars page to view the different calendars available for use on your Faculty Web Page.

Click the following link to download the Faculty Web calendars: Download Calendars.

After downloading the template file you will need an application capable of decompressing zipped files.  You can find links to these programs on the IRT Software Support Pages.  We recommend using WinZip for PC and StuffIt Expander for Macintosh systems.

Getting Started

  1. Request a Web Server Account. The Web server administrators will create a directory for your Web site.
  2. You will need a Web editor application to modify the template pages. If you do not have a Web editor, ask your IT representative for assistance. Macromedia Dreamweaver is the Web editor supported at Sac State.
  3. Download the template and edit the template to suit your needs. See Faculty Web Handout for tips on modifying the template.
  4. Upload your modified template to your Web server account.
  5. Request your site be added to the Faculty Web Page Listing.
