MEDIA SERVER - CREATING LINKS IN SacCT

Link to video and audio files on the Media Server by using the Web Links tool in SacCT. Examples of content you can link to include recorded lectures, class presentations, tutorials, and movie and audio recordings related to your course.

Linking to Video & Audio with Web Links Tool

You may already be using the Web Links tool to link to different online resources like websites or journal articles. You can also use it to link to content on the Media Server.

  1. Begin in the Build View of your SacCT course.
  2. Click Web Links from the Course Tools Menu.
  3. Click Create Web Link, the Properties window for Web Links will appear.
  4. Enter a Title and Description for your video/audio file.
  5. In the Web Address (URL) field, type in your video/audio file URL

  1. Select or Create a Category to place your new Web Link under.
  2. Once the link is created it will display in your Web Links tool under the Category you specified (See image below).

Combining Web Links with Other Course Content

Web Links can be placed on various areas in your SacCT course such as on your Course Home Page, in a Folder, within a Learning Module, or in the Calendar. One way to make Web Links easily visible to users is by placing them on your Course Homepage or within a folder.

  1. Begin in Build View.
  2. From your Course Home Page or Folder click on Add Content Link.
  3. From the drop-down menu click Web Link. A list of all available Web Links will appear.

  1. Choose the Web Link(s) and click Add Selected.
  2. Icons to the Web Links you have selected will display on the course home page or within any folder page as shown below.
