WEB-BASED DISTANCE AND DISTRIBUTED
EDUCATION COURSES

At Sacramento State, Web-based courses fall into two categories: 

Web Courses

These are courses where all the instruction occurs on the Internet.  Depending upon the course requirements and at the instructor’s discretion, students may be required to attend orientation and/or testing sessions in a traditional classroom, usually on the Sac State campus.

Web-enhanced Courses

In this model, traditional classroom instruction is combined with Web usage, with at least 50 percent or more of the instruction happening on the Web.
