Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences

The BS programs provide the necessary preparation for post baccalaureate work and are the preferred degree programs for students pursuing careers in biology, teaching, or the health sciences.

Units required for the Major: 77-84

Minimum total units required for the BA: 120-123

Note: Additional units may be required to meet the CSUS foreign language requirement.

Concentrations:

Within the Biological Sciences BS program, a student may choose to have a particular "concentration". Having a concentration means taking a prescribed set of courses which ensures that a student has a focussed understanding within a particular area of biological sciences. It is not essential that a student be in a concentration to be in the BS program and in fact most of our students are not in a particular concentration, rather they devise a program of study that suits their individual needs, in consultation with a faculty advisor.

Available concentrations include:

Biological Conservation
Clinical Laboratry Science
Forensic Biology
Microbiology
Molecular Biology
