Some of the faculty in Biological Sciences belong to one or more of the following research groups.

CREST (Center for Regional Environmental Studies and Technology)

CREST is a cross-disciplinary, interdepartmental group of faculty formed at CSUS to respond to intensifying needs for high-quality, independent scientific studies of the natural and physical environment. Members include faculty from Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Environmental Studies and Geology.

EEC (Ecology, Evolution and Conservation)

The EEC group is a collection of faculty within the Department of Biological Sciences specifically interested in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation.

CIMERA ( The Center for Interdisciplinary Molecular Biology Education, Research and Advancement)

Formerly MBIG (The Molecular Biology Interdisciplinary Group) CIMERA supports faculty and students who are currently involved in molecular biology and biochemical research. MBIG has established a facility that enables faculty and students to share resources and knowledge while providing a modern molecular laboratory for both research and instruction.
