Campus, state agencies to prepare leadership pipeline
President Alexander Gonzalez, along with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Secretary Roderick Q. Hickman, and Caltrans Director Will Kempton, kicked off an innovative Leadership Development Program Jan. 11 aimed at preparing the next generation of leaders in state government.

Planning committee to help shape University’s future
Mapping out the University’s future is the charge of a new campus committee. The Strategic Planning Council, which held its first meeting in December, is a retooling of the previous planning group, the Council for University Planning or CUP, says chair Ric Brown, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.

High school thespians take to the stage in 50th Lenaea Festival
For the 50th year Sacramento State will play host to one of the largest high school drama events of its kind when the 2006 Lenaea Festival opens at the University Jan. 27. More than 1,200 high school students are expected to participate in plays, monologues and, new for this year, musical vignettes, during the three-day, award-winning festival at venues campuswide.

President’s Spring Address
President Alexander Gonzalez will give his spring address to the campus community on Thursday, Jan. 19 in the University Union Ballroom. The event will begin with coffee at 9 a.m. in the University Union lobby next to the Ballroom. The President’s talk will follow at 10 a.m.
