Clevenger, Computer Science and Computer Engineering,
gave the keynote address titled "Inside the Computer
Science Inside Computer Games" at the Arab and North
Africa Eighth Regional Contest/ACM International Collegiate
Programming Contest Conference at Kuwait University on Nov.
30. His talk dealt with why games are a serious computer science
topic.
Craig
Gallet, Economics, had the paper entitled "Putting
out Fires: An Examination of the Determinants of State Clean
Indoor-Air Laws" accepted for publication in the Southern
Economic Journal.
Anna
Kruger, Music, was the winner of an international
audition that enabled her to assume duties as associate principal
violist of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra.
Barbara
Keys, History, presented a paper on "The Soviet
Union, Global Culture, and the 1956 Olympic Games" at
a conference in Zurich in October and this semester will be
teaching at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Owen, Communication Studies, has a poem in the January
issue of Mainichi Daily News, Tokyo.
