Building a foundation for the future--College of Engineering and
Computer Science will bring business leaders to campus

The College of Engineering and Computer Science at Sacramento State is hosting a forum titled "Sacramento Region Engineering Workforce" on Thursday, Jan. 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., designed to address the growing need for engineers and IT professionals in the region.

“The focus of the forum will be formulating ideas as to how we can increase the enrollment, retention and graduation of engineers for our region so we can better serve the needs of the community,” says Emir Jose Macari, dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Dan Kennedy, editor of the Sacramento Business Journal, will be the keynote speaker and David Lyons, labor analyst for the California Employment Development Department, will provide statistics on the critical need for engineering and computer science talent during the next decade.

The College of Engineering and Computer Science is inviting representatives from industry and government to work with educators to find both short- and long-term solutions.
