Veterans, Carol Channing to be honored at Gala

Sacramento State will pay homage to veterans as well as an icon of the stage during the fourth annual Green and Gold Gala, 5:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20, in the University Union Ballroom.

The evening will highlight the University’s Troops to College program, which provides scholarships and support services to help veterans obtain a college education. It will also feature actress and singer Carol Channing as the guest of honor and featured speaker.

The Green and Gold Gala provides the University with an opportunity to honor its supporters and highlight its successes. Event costs are covered through sponsorship contributions. Confirmed sponsors include Five Star Bank, the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, Sysco Sacramento, VSP Vision Care, Airco Mechanical, Inc./Unger Construction, Douglas Patino, maryandwendy.com, SAFE Credit Union, USAA, Crystal Basin Cellers, Cosentino, Steltzner and ZD Wines.

Tickets are $200 per person. Sacramento State faculty and staff tickets are available for $150. Proceeds from the Gala will support the Troops to College Program.
