Crash to speak at Sacramento State
Bobby
Moresco, screenwriter and producer of Crash, the
provocative film nominated for four Academy Awards including
best picture and original screenplay, will speak at 7:30 p.m.
on Monday, Feb. 13 in the University Union Ballroom. In his
lecture, “Society through My Lens,” Moresco will
talk about personal experiences that inspired the film. The
talk is free and free screenings of Crash will precede
the talk at noon and 5 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Union Ballroom.
Moresco
co-produced Crash, as well as the award-winning film
Million Dollar Baby and the critically acclaimed
television series “EZ Streets,” “Falcone”
and “Millennium.”
Lions
Gate Films’ Crash takes an unflinching look
at the complexities of racial intolerance in contemporary
America. The plot develops when a seemingly simple car accident
in Los Angeles brings together a diverse group of people.
As their lives collide the issue of racism and racial profiling
is explored as each of these people work through their own
fears and inherent prejudices.
The
movie features a star-studded cast including Sandra Bullock,
Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.
The talk and screening are among many events Sacramento State
will host for Black History Month.
