President Gonzalez leads budget meeting
President Alexander Gonzalez
Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez will lead students, faculty and staff in a look at the impact California’s budget crisis is having on the University during a town hall meeting, noon-1p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, in Capistrano Hall’s Music Recital Hall.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Joseph Sheley, Associate Vice President for Budget Planning and Administration Stacy Hayano and a representative from the University Budget Advisory Committee will join Gonzalez.
The meeting is scheduled to begin with a presentation by Hayano on overall budget issues. Gonzalez will then outline how Sacramento State has addressed budget issues through measures such as e-advocacy, reaching out to alumni and stating the University’s case in meetings with state legislators. The panel will then take questions from the audience.
Because of the anticipated interest in the meeting, Capistrano Hall Room 151 will be set up as an overflow room where people will be able to watch it on a large screen. A link will be available on Sacramento State’s home web page to watch the meeting via live streaming at http://www.csus.edu/pa/budget/, and any room with access to the University’s cable system will be able to watch the meeting on Channel 10.
