CROSSROADS--The Academic Information Resource
Center’s second floor computing lab, the University’s
newest, has really caught on, according to lab staff.
The 87 work stations, 16 group stations, 10 laptop stations,
five group study rooms, copier and printers make it
one of the largest busiest labs on campus.

offers opportunities to women

its successful debut last year the Women Mentoring Women Conference
will return to Sacramento State from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., on
Friday, Feb. 24 in the University Union Ballroom. “Women
Mentoring Women: Women Leading the Way” will connect
female Sacramento State students with female leaders in the
community.

Sacramento
State’s College of Education will host a Teaching Credential
Information Day where prospective students can learn more
about the teaching profession and the K-12 credential programs
offered by the University. The event will be from 1:30 to
3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 in the University Union Foothill
Suite and is open to the public.

Karen
Horobin, professor of Child Development, knows first-hand that
growing up in a poor family doesn’t mean you don’t
have a future. She dropped out of high school in England at age
15. It would be 11 years before she would return to school to
earn her high school equivalency certificate.

Sacramento State presents The Tempest, set on a mysterious
island of enchanted spirits, where a magician’s revenge collides
with a world of misfits and shipwrecked clowns that will leave audiences
crying with laughter. The production opens at 8 p.m., Friday, Feb.
