Info day has answers for future teachers

Sacramento State’s College of Education will host a Teaching Credential Information Day where prospective students can learn more about the teaching profession and the K-12 credential programs offered by the University. The event will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 in the University Union Foothill Suite and is open to the public.

The event will give participants the opportunity to learn more about Sacramento State’s Teacher Preparation Program and the 9- and 16-month programs offered in multiple subject, single subject and special education credentials along with bilingual education options. Booths will also provide students with information on the job market in the greater Sacramento region, teaching as a career and how to apply for financial aid and scholarships. Staff will also be on hand to assist students in applying for the program.

Graduates from Sacramento State’s Teacher Preparation Program are highly employable according to data from a CSU Chancellor’s Office evaluation study: 82 percent of Sac State graduates report being employed as teachers for the entire year after finishing their program.
