Paul Orfalea, founder of Kinko’s and author of Copy This!, will share his success story at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 20 at the Sacramento State Alumni Center.
Orfalea founded Kinko’s, Inc. in 1970 near the University of California at Santa Barbara. Kinko’s – now FedEx Kinko’s – has more than 1,700 locations worldwide.
His discussion will focus on overcoming obstacles and turning impediments into opportunities. He will detail his journey from a self-proclaimed “poster boy” for attention deficit disorder and dyslexia to the owner of a small copy shop he transformed into a $2 billion-a-year company.
The event is free to attend and is open to the public. The lecture is sponsored by the College of Business Administration and Services to Students with Disabilities. Light refreshments will be provided by the Sacramento Association of Collegiate Entrepreneurs.
A limited number of parking permits are available upon check-in at the Alumni Center. If no permits are available, a visitor’s pass can be purchased for $6 at the information booths.
