President meets new citizens

Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez spoke to new citizens about the importance of education at a naturalization ceremony Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium. Included in the ceremony were several Sacramento State students.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services holds the monthly ceremony for approximately 900 new citizens from countries around the world.
Gonzalez’ parents were immigrants to the United States, and he was the first member of his family to obtain a college degree.
