In the ever-changing, fast-paced world of technology, the one thing that does not change in Clint Lee’s world is reaching out and helping people.
Lee is the director for Business Information Systems and has been an integral figure in Common Management Systems, which supports the crux of the University’s business and administration computing processes.
Highly experienced in Sacramento State’s evolving computer applications, Clint explains how technology on campus has changed over the years. “It used to be that Business Information Systems was more involved with generating reports for our client base. Now we’re looked upon more to support the business process and providing our clients with information and tools for decision making. I see that as a great accomplishment in both technology and the work place.”
Lee emphasizes how the job calls for continual learning and renewing of skills. “It’s always been exciting because technology changes. It’s not like the same old job, it’s always something new. Systems evolve.”
However, despite his technological talents, Lee’s satisfaction comes from helping others. “One thing that hasn’t changed is that we are really a service organization. We serve our clients,” he says. “I get enjoyment from them. I would like to think that I empower them to do their jobs more effectively.”
Without question, you can depend on Lee for friendly, personable help with “technical difficulties.”
“Technology changes, but it’s really the people that make the job.” His statement rings sincere as Lee assures, “I plan on another 10 years here at least. I’ll see CMS through to its successor.”
