Scholarship
Doug Rice, English, gave a reading from his work-in-progress, “Enchantments of Skin and Desire.” He also presented a lecture on memory beneath photographs at the LaRoche College Literary Society series in Pittsburgh. Rice also gave a talk on memories of Derridean correspondence at the University of Pittsburgh.
Ernest Uwazie, Criminal Justice, was a panelist for the screening of a documentary, “Iron Ladies of Liberia.” He participated in a discussion of the film’s impact and the themes of government, democracy and conditions in African countries with particular attention to the role of women in politics.
Recognition
Donald Taylor, Academic Affairs, was appointed to a three-year term on the Executive Board of the Council of Fellows, American Council on Education at the organization’s 90th meeting held in San Diego.
