Reaccreditation process invites comments from
campus and includes open forums

Faculty, staff and students are invited to take part in one of three, one hour open forums at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13 as part of the University's reaccreditation review. The campus community may also send confidential comments to WASC, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges at wasc_csus@yahoo.com. Only the WASC visit team will have access to the e-mail.

Sacramento State is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is required to undergo a periodical review process to maintain its status of accreditation. WASC has instituted a three-stage, sequential institutional review process since 2001.

The University is currently in the second stage of the review process – Capacity and Preparatory Review. In this stage, a Preparatory Review team reviews the information presented in the Capacity and Preparatory Report; evaluates key institutional resources, structures and processes in the light of the WASC Standards; assesses the institution’s preparedness to undertake the Educational Effectiveness Review (third stage); and assists the institution in refining its focus and planning for that review.

As part of the second stage review, the Preparatory Review team will visit the campus on March 12-14 to gather detailed information to assist their evaluation of the University’s preparedness for Educational Effectiveness Review. The University has scheduled three open forums for the visit team members to meet with faculty, staff and students. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend and share their perspectives with the WASC visit team.

Staff: Academic Information Resources Center (AIRC) 1007
Students: Orchard Suite I, University Union
