Michelle Stevens, Environmental Studies, had a chapter, “Iraq and Iran in Ecological Perspective: The Mesopotamian Marshes and the Hawizeh-Azim Peace Park,” published in Peace Parks Conservation and Conflict Resolution, from MIT Press.
Becky Penrod, Psychology, has been appointed adjunct clinical professor of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine at UC Davis for her collaborative work in the feeding program.
Tom Knutson and Phan Datthuyawat, Communication Studies, had their paper “Intercultural Communications Effectiveness: Thai Culture and the Land of the Smile,” selected for presentation at the annual conference of Phi Beta Delta, the international honor society. Knutson has been invited to conduct a graduate seminar on Leadership and Team Communication at Bangkok University this summer.
Tom Decker, Art, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship at the University of the Phillipines-Dillman and will be there from June through November.
Scott Parady, Art, has a show at b. sakata garo gallery, in Sacramento through March 29.
Ellen Van Fleet, Art, has a show, “Barred Rock: New Work,” at the JayJay Gallery at 5520 Elvas Avenue through April 19.
David Wetzel, Art, is having his recent work, “Carbon/Silicone Hybrid Zone,” shown at Another Year in LA., a Los Angeles gallery through April 11.
Ian Harvey, Art, and his wife, Koo Kyung Sook, had their work on the cover of this month’s issue of Artwork which also included a review of their recent show, “Ian Harvey- Koo Kyung Sook: Collaborations.”
Smile Dube, Economics, had a paper, “Stock Prices and the Exchange Rate in a Monetary Model: An ARDL Bounds Testing Approach Using South African Data,” accepted for publication by the African Finance Journal.
Otis Scott, Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, gave a keynote presentation at Cosumnes River College’s celebration of Black History Month. He was the keynote speaker at a similar program sponsored by the Legislative Data Center. Scott was also recently appointed to the board of directors for the “Smokey” Robinson Foundation.
