Monday Briefing

Graphic: Sac State Commute Choices

Bicycling is a great way to commute to the campus and get exercise at the same time. Sacramento State has a free bicycle parking compound at the foot of the Guy West Bridge. It is staffed by University Transportation and parking Services student assistants from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays during the academic year. Additional bicycle racks are located throughout campus. Bicycle lockers are also available for rent for $50 per semester through ASI Peak Adventures at 278-6321.

To make the bike commute easier, Hornet Express shuttles and Sacramento Regional Transit buses are equipped with bicycle racks. Commuters can also arrange to ride with a “bike buddy” by visiting www.1800commute.org for a bicycle buddy match list.

For more information on bicycling on campus, contact Alfredo Orozco at orozcoa@csus.edu or 278-7527. For more information on bicycling off campus visit www.sacramento-tma.org or call 441-7074.
