The Sacramento State Department of Public Safety will hold a two-hour presentation on the history and psychology of active shooters, police/university reaction, the Emergency Notification System (ENS) and response options.
The session is 8-11 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, in the University Union Foothill Suite. It is free and open to the campus community.
Attendees will learn how to recognize an active shooter situation and how it differs from other shooting incidents. They will also learn practical options which can be used to plan and respond to an active shooter incident.
Additionally, attendees will learn how to notify authorities during an incident and how the ENS and other University communication systems are activated. An opportunity to sign up for the ENS will be available during the presentation.
