“The Politics of Play and Performance”
theme of annual interdisciplinary conference
Sacramento State’s third annual interdisciplinary Artful Strategies & Necessary Risks conference will have “The Politics of Play and Performance” as its theme. The conference will be held April 18-19 at the University Union. It is free and open to the public.
The forum will bring together scholars from diverse disciplines to consider how aspects of play and performance affect everyday life, are deployed to achieve particular ends, and reflect various social and cultural events and practices.
The conference is organized by Sacramento State professors Erin Stiles (Humanities and English Studies), Cindi SturtzSreetharan (Anthropology), Hellen Lee-Keller (English), Wendy Matlock (English) and Victoria Shinbrot (Humanities and Religious Studies).
