Jason Talanian, Kinesiology and Health Science alumnus, has co-authored a research paper titled “Two weeks of high-intensity aerobic interval training increases the capacity for fat oxidation during exercise in women” published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, April 2007; co-authored a research paper titled “The effects of training in hyperoxia vs. normoxia on skeletal muscle exzyme activities and exercise performance” published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, March, 2007; and co-authored a paper titled “Adrenergic regulation of HSL serine phosphorylation and activity in human skeletal muscle during the onset of exercise” published in the American Journal of Physiology, Regulatory,Integrative and Comparative, October, 2006.

Haroldene Wunder, Accounting, presented a paper titled "Tax Risk Management in the Post-Sarbanes-Oxley Era" at the 2007 Western Decision Sciences Institute’s annual meeting in Denver, April 3 - 7. The manuscript received the Conference's Accounting II, Audit/Financial/Tax Track Best Paper Award.
Darryl O. Freeman, Government, delivered a paper titled "The Paradoxical Implications of Mexico's Official Color Blind Public Policy and Its Racist Perception in Afro-American Political Thought" at the Southwestern Social Science Association's eighty-seventh annual meeting held in Albuquerque, NM on March 15.
Donald Carper, College of Business, delivered a paper titled “Undiagnosed Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Commercial Truck Drivers: Legal Implications to Drivers, Employers, and Health Care Professionals” at the Western Academy of Legal Studies in Business on March 31, in Monterey, California.
Roger Sullivan, Anthropology, coauthored two posters at the 32nd annual meeting of the Human Biology Association, in Philadelphia, PA. The posters were titled “Comparative Reduction in Cytochrome P450 Genes in Homo sapiens: Implications for Hominid Diet Shift and Encephalization” and “Plant Neurotoxins and Brain Development: Implications for Encephalization in Homo.”
Celeste Roseberry-McKibbin, Speech Pathology and Audiology, was named a Fellow of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association in November 2006, an honor given to approximately 30 speech pathologists in the United States each year.
Tony Platt, Social Work, has accepted an invitation to talk about his book Bloodlines: Recovering Hitler's Nuremberg Laws, From Patton's Trophy to Public Memorial at the Topography of Terror Museum in Berlin on July 5; and at the Documentation Centre Nazi Party Rally Grounds, Museum of the City of Nuremberg on July 6. The Topography Museum is located on the site of the Gestapo headquarters, and the Documentation Centre is located on the site of the infamous Nazi rallies.
