What’s on your mp3 player?
All kinds of music including hip-hop, rap and some pop songs. I’m a big fan of music from Sublime, Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
Favorite book?
Not that I’m a fan of the philosophy, but I admire the genius behind Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. The last book I read (for the second time) was The Alchemist.
Favorite city to visit?
New York
Who most influenced you to become a teacher?
I was never really influenced by anyone to teach; rather, I was very interested in structural engineering as an undergraduate student, and that interest developed into an intellectual curiosity. In a way, teaching has been an extension of that because our job as professors is to develop knowledge and consider better practices to teach others or advance the state-of-the-art.
