The world of graphic novels is the subject of two events sponsored by Sacramento State’s Design department.

Kazu Kibuishi, author/illustrator of The Last Train and Amulet, Book 1: The Stonekeeper, will speak on the process of creating graphic novels. His presentation is 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, in Room 301 of Sequoia Hall.

Sacramento State professor Mario Estioko will exhibit images from his new graphic novel, The Peck, in the Design Gallery, Mariposa Hall Room 4000, April 28 through May 9. Gallery hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Estioko is an associate professor of graphic design whose comic work has appeared in magazines and college newspapers throughout the country. This is his first foray into the graphic novel genre.
