Summer
hours
This summer, in an effort to conserve energy, the campus will again adopt a
modified work schedule with normal business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with
a 30-minute lunch break. These hours will be effective on Tuesday, May 30 and
continue through Friday, August 18. Authorized supervisors may modify individual
work schedules to address special situations as long as offices are staffed
during these announced hours.
As in past summers, this schedule enables the University to realize substantial
budget savings by reducing energy consumption during the late afternoon hours
when energy demand is highest.
For questions or concerns that cannot be answered by individual office supervisors
or managers, contact Elizabeth Redmond, interim associate vice president for
Human Resources, at 278-4488 or via e-mail at lredmond@csus.edu.

Volunteers needed for NCAA Outdoor Championships
More than
1,000 of the top collegiate athlete in the nation will compete June 7-10 on
the Sacramento State campus in a nationally-televised event—the 2006 NCAA
Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Celebrating its 100-year anniversary,
the Outdoor Track and Field event is the oldest championship sponsored by the
NCAA as well as the largest championship in terms of participants.
It takes hundreds of volunteers to put on an event of this magnitude, so the
local organizing committee is asking for help. Anyone interested in volunteering
in one of the numerous positions available during this championship event can
do so by contacting Lois Mattice, Sacramento State associate athletics director,
at 278-7548.
