Technology
workshops planned
Academic Technology and Creative Services, and Computing, Communications and
Media Services will offer the following workshops during the summer:
WebCT version
6 workshops will be offered twice starting June 16 and July 17. The workshops
provide hands-on, step-by-step instructions on how to create online courses
or online materials using WebCT version 6. The “Introduction to WebCT
6” and “The Basics” workshops are the foundations for the
other topic-based WebCT workshops offered.
Web skills classes
such as Web Design, Introduction to Web Accessibility, Faculty Web Sites,
Dreamweaver, Images for the Web, Cascading Style Sheets, Using Sac State Web
Templates, and StudyMate
Toolbook Assistant
8.5 (Windows only) workshop on creating attractive, highly responsive interactive
quizzes and presentations.

with Pinnacle (PC users)
Communication
Tips for Altiris Vision and PowerPoint
Digital design
essentials with Photoshop Elements, image acquisition, image scanning, printing,
web publishing, and archiving and managing digital images
Go Paperless
with Adobe Acrobat workshop on creating PDF documents using several different
options, as well as viewing navigating and modifying content with Adobe Acrobat
Academic Technology
and Creative Services staff will also be available for consultation on a drop-in
basis in the open lab session each Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. in Academic Information
Resource Center 3013 for faculty working on technology-related course material.

Picnic
time is near
The Annual USA Staff Appreciation Picnic will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m., Friday, June 2 at the Outdoor Theatre. This year’s event will have
a Western theme with food, entertainment and prizes.
With sponsorship from the President's Office, University Enterprises and the
University Staff Assembly, one complimentary ticket each is available for staff
members who choose to attend.
Individuals can pick up their tickets by contacting their USA Representative
after May 8 but no later than May 19. General tickets for non-staff members
can be purchased for $10 from any University Staff Assembly Representative.
No tickets will be available at the event.
Study abroad reception
The Office of Global Education will host a reception on from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday,
May 12, in the University Union Foothill Suite in honor of the Sacramento State
students who have been selected to study abroad during the 2006-07 academic
year. The students will be studying in a variety of countries and disciplines.
