Volunteers
needed for NCAA Outdoor Championships
More than 1,000 of the top collegiate athletes in the nation will compete June
7-10 on the Sacramento State campus in a nationally-televised event—the
2006 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Celebrating its
100-year anniversary, the Outdoor Track and Field event is the oldest championship
sponsored by the NCAA as well as the largest championship in terms of participants.
It takes hundreds of volunteers to put on an event of this magnitude, so the
local organizing committee is asking for help. Anyone interested in volunteering
in one of the numerous positions available during this championship event can
do so by contacting Lois Mattice, Sacramento State associate athletics director,
at 278-7548.
