Plan
for disaster at the Emergency Preparedness Fair
The
Sacramento State Environmental Health and Safety department
and the University Police will sponsor an Emergency Preparedness
Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13 in the Redwood
Room of the University Union. The event coincides with National
Emergency Preparedness Week, Sept. 11 to 17, and is open to
the public.
The free event will feature several local agencies providing
information about proper safety procedures and emergency information
including the university’s Health and Safety, Nursing,
and Police departments, and the Student Health Center. The
Sacramento County Public Health Department, Police Department,
Homeland Security, and Metro Fire Department, as well as the
American Red Cross, Cintas First Aid and Safety, and PG&E
will also be on hand.
“Our goal is to increase awareness of the importance
of personal preparedness for emergencies,” said Staci
Louie of the Environmental Health and Safety department who
is organizing the event.
