Campus facing tough parking situation

With construction of Parking Structure III now underway near the Stadium, the campus has temporarily lost hundreds of parking spots. Traffic on campus will be heavier and extend through more of the day than in recent years. And the usual start-of-semester traffic snarls promise to be much more intense.

Campus officials are urging students, staff, faculty and visitors to use alternative transportation such as the Hornet Shuttle or Regional Transit buses and light rail. Those who must drive are being advised to arrive on campus with plenty of time to spare before classes or appointments.

Eventually, Parking Structure III will provide about 3,000 parking spots. It is due to be completed in early 2007.

Watch for more detailed information in the Bulletin, on the campus website and in your e-mail. For more, including alternate transportation options, visit www.csus.edu/utaps.
