Sacramento State’s Procurement and Contract Services proved once again they’re at the top of their profession upon receipt of the 12th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award from the National Purchasing Institute.

The National Purchasing Institute, a membership-based association designed to enhance professional development of public-sector organizations, awarded the 2007 Achievement in Excellence to Procurement for 19 different criteria, including an up-to-date procurement manual, an effective communication process, vendor training, ability to transact business online, professional staff training and formal audits.

Procurement and Contract Services received the same award in 2005.

Procurement and Contract Services, a division of the University’s Administration and Business Affairs, provides and coordinates all the University’s acquisitions and contracting needs. To accomplish this, staff have established procedures which provide for a smooth flow of incoming requisitions through the procurement cycle and delivery of supplies or services to the campus. The unit is also in charge of no-cost agreements, revenue agreements, public works and the procurement card, among others.
