Bill Leach and David Sumi, Center for Collaborative Policy, made a presentation titled, "Deliberative Democracy or Customer Service? What the Public Really Wants out of Public Participation," at the annual meeting of the American Political Science Association in Chicago, August 30.
Adam Sutkus, Center for Collaborative Policy, authored an article on emergency management and homeland security titled, "Collaboration: A Critical Emerging Trend," in the August 2007 PA Times.
Barbara Carle, Foreign Languages, published an article titled, "Poiein and Pictura in Alfonso Gatto's Rime di viaggio per la terra dipinta" in Italica, the journal of the American Association of Teachers of Italian, Volume 83, Numbers 3 and 4, Fall/Winter 2006. Carle also published seven poems in English and Italian in Hebenon, an international journal of literature in Turin, November 2007.
Tony Platt, Social Work, gave talks in July at the Topography of Terror in Berlin and Documentation Centre, Nazi Rally Grounds, Nuremberg. His book review, "Reign of Terror Against Chinese," appeared in the June 3 San Francisco Chronicle. He also co-authored a piece in the June 10 San Francisco Chronicle about the legacies of eugenics titled, "Shared Riches Bring Wealth of Baggage."
Ted Lascher, Public Policy, and Public Policy alumna Ellen Martin had an article accepted to PS: Political Science and Politics titled, “What Would Justify Government Compensation for Victims of Future Terrorist Attacks in the United States?”
