Sacramento State’s Renaissance Society begins its Fall Forum this September with a strong line-up of local media celebrities, representatives of Sacramento’s Arts Community and Congressional Representative Doris Matsui. In its 22nd year, the Society’s Forum continues to educate and inform its members bringing contemporary speakers and issues to the Sacramento State campus.
Forums are held on Fridays from 3-4 p.m.
Arts and the economy are a running theme this year with presentations Sept. 19 by Mark Feldman, CEO of the Sacramento Philharmonic and Oct. 3 by Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez.
Past Renaissance Society president Doug Fulton is excited about the 2008 schedule. “This year’s program is one of our strongest line-ups to date. We wanted to focus more on the arts this year, and that is reflected in the schedule.” Fulton, who serves on the Renaissance Society scholarship committee, explains that his participation is a “way to give back to a University that continues to give so much.”
Forums are open to the public but space is limited. Every year the Forum features invited speakers of note who share their views with members, followed by lively question and answer sessions.
