Learn more about Sacramento State’s flu preparedness
Sacramento State’s continuing fight against the two types of influenza circulating this year includes keeping everyone up-to-date on the latest information about the flu.
Visit www.csus.edu/pa/flu to learn about the latest immunization efforts and ways to restrict the spread of flu. Sacramento State health officials have prepared frequently asked questions specifically for students, their parents and faculty about risks, prevention and treatment, as well as methods for handling flu concerns in the classroom. The site also has links to national and local public health agencies on the world-wide response to the flu.
Sacramento State’s Health Center has received the seasonal flu vaccine. The vaccine against the H1N1 flu is expected to arrive in late October. Seasonal flu shots will be available at the Health Center and at the annual student welcome celebration Phlagleblast from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the University Union. Another flu clinic is planned for the Natural High Health Fair, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Library Quad.
The health center is also planning other mass vaccination clinics around the campus. Visit www.csus.edu/hlth for dates, times, and locations. Seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccinations are free to students. Seasonal flu shots will be available to faculty and staff at a charge of $15.
