Delicious
treats and tasty eats move to River Front Center
Sacramento
State’s River Front Center welcomed two local favorites to the campus
eateries over the summer for the university community to enjoy. Leatherby’s
Ice Cream and Creperie and Gordito Burrito Express offer a variety of meal or
snack options that run the gamut from cold and sweet to hot and spicy.
Enjoyed those Leatherby’s
ice cream cones at the University Staff Assembly picnic the past two years?
It’s now possible to eat a Leatherby’s ice cream cone on campus
whenever the mood strikes, rather than just once a year. Leatherby’s,
a Sacramento favorite for more than 20 years known for dishing up ice cream
in generous portions, is bringing ice cream and more to its new location in
the River Front Center.
In addition to
ice cream and all its manifestations—sundaes, banana splits, milkshakes,
floats and malts—Leatherby’s Ice Cream and Creperie is also offering
a wide variety of meal choices. Menu choices include breakfast, lunch and dessert
crepes, bagels, muffins, pastries, a variety of Java City coffees, sandwiches,
salads, frozen yogurt and low-fat and sugar-free ice cream and, in the mornings,
a build-your-own waffle station with simple step-by-step directions posted on
the wall next to the waffle irons.
Gordito Burrito
Express is bringing its authentic brand of Mexican dishes to the Riverfront
Center as well. Like its sister location in the University Union, Gordito Burrito
Express serves burritos, tacos and other Mexican specialty items. The “Express”
in its title indicates at least two items on the menu are offered for less than
a dollar. For 99 cents, the resaurant offers a chicken or beef hard shell taco
or a mini bean and cheese burrito.
A breakfast menu
is also available until 10:30 a.m., providing students, faculty and staff with
breakfast burritos to get the day started.
