Sacramento, he wasn’t sure if it was feasible. It didn’t
take him long to have a change of heart.

Caliente lineup for Hispanic
Heritage Month
The events for Hispanic Heritage Month at Sacramento State
are hotter than ever with the campus premiere of the play
S-E-X-Oh!, a performance from Latino rock band Molotov
and a screening of the acclaimed documentary El Corrido
de Cecilia Rios. Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated
on campus this year from Sept. 12 through Oct. 19, honors
the cultures and traditions of U.S. residents who trace their
roots to Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Hornet Express shuttle is free to Sacramento State
employees. The Hornet Express provides a convenient
mode of transportation around the campus loop and to
and from locations near campus. Hours of operation are
6:50 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. during the fall and spring academic
semesters. Riders should show their OneCard to the shuttle
driver upon boarding.
The Campus/La Riviera shuttle serves College Greens,
Watt Avenue, Folsom Blvd. and the Sacramento State perimeter
loop. The Morse/Fulton shuttle provides service to the
Morse Avenue, Fulton Avenue and Fair Oaks Blvd. areas.
The Arden/Cal Expo shuttle provides service to the Howe
Avenue, Exposition Blvd., Heritage Lane, Arden Way,
Bell Street, Northrop Avenue and Cadillac Drive areas.

Outstanding
Teacher — Chris Sablynski
Chris Sablynski brings a wealth of experience to the classroom,
having worked with large corporations such as Microsoft and
Chase Manhattan Bank. But perhaps more important to his students
is his love of teaching and his knack for generating a real
excitement for learning. It helped make him this year’s recipient
of the Outstanding Teacher Award for the College of Business
Administration.

Breakfast Club serves up fourth season
With the beginning of the academic year comes Sacramento State’s
Alumni Association Breakfast Club Speaker Series. The lectures this
year will cover a wide spectrum of themes, from commerce to government
to education, all from local speakers. The discussion-based format
allows audience members to interact with speakers and voice their
opinions about the headlines and concerns in the community. Each
talk begins at 7:30 a.m. and will include free breakfast for Alumni
Association members. Non-member breakfast is $20.

back-to-back volleyball national championships (1980-81), Intercollegiate
Athletics and Alumni Association are honoring both squads at a Sept.
