homepage coming this week
Sacramento State’s homepage gets a new look later the
week. It is part of ongoing enhancements to the University’s
website that also includes new secondary pages, student recruitment
pages and others. The new homepage will be more consistent with the
best contemporary university website design, with flashier content
and graphics, more extensive links to popular content, and constantly
updated news and events information.

A
Guaranteed Ride Home program is available for
commuters who use alternate transportation.
In the event a pre-registered participant or their
commute partner is required to work unscheduled
overtime or experiences a qualifying emergency,
guaranteed transportation is provided via taxi,
or a rental car for those who live more than 20
miles from campus, up to six times in a 12-month
period. Employees who travel to and from campus
at least three days per week—or 60 percent
of their work schedule—by bicycle, bus,
carpool, vanpool, light rail or walking may participate
in the program. Some restrictions apply.

Francisco International stand-up comedy competition
Comedy
comes to Sacramento State via the San Francisco International
Stand-up Comedy Competition on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 7:30
p.m. in the University Union Ballroom. The competition—whose
previous contestants included Robin Williams, Dana Carvey,
and Ellen DeGeneres—will feature 10 professional comedians.
