Sacramento State’s Division of Nursing will have more elbow room in 2010 when it moves into the former CalSTRS building on Folsom Blvd.

The nursing program is currently located in El Dorado Hall, but the program has grown over the years and has outgrown its current location.

“With 80 students, we have to shuffle labs for 12 hours a day to get all the students through the labs,” says Ann Stoltz, chair of the Division of Nursing. “It’s important that we’re able to provide more experience for our new students so we can turn out the best professional nurses we can.”

The Division will become the second campus organization to move to the building which will be renamed Folsom Hall. University Transportation and Parking Services moved there two years ago.

The building was purchased from CalSTRS in 2007 by University Enterprises, Inc., Sacramento State’s not-for-profit campus auxiliary. It will be used for academic programs, campus administrative offices and classrooms. A portion of the building will be leased to commercial business tenants.
