Weinberg of "Late Night with Conan O’Brien’s"
Max Weinberg 7 is coming to Sacramento State this fall. His
lecture, “E-Street to Late Night: Dreams Found, Lost
and Found Again,” will be at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct.
27 in the University Union Ballroom. Tickets are $10 general
admission and $5 for Sacramento State students.
The made-for-college, multi-media performance features stories
and anecdotes from his days in the limelight with Bruce Springsteen
as a member of Springsteen’s E Street Band. Weinberg
will also present a number of videos that take a behind-the-scenes
look at life as a rock star and as a late-night television
personality. The audience will also be taken through the highlights
and low-lights of his entertainment career.
Weinberg has been in the spotlight since his early days with
Springsteen’s backup ensemble, the E Street Band. Sixteen
years and 50 million record sales later, he joined up with
Late Night in September of 1993 and has served as the show’s
music director ever since. In his travels over the industry’s
landscape, he’s played with such musicians as Paul McCartney,
Barbara Streisand, Sting, Pete Townsend of the Who and Charlie
Watts of the Rolling Stones.
