Annual budget town hall set for Wednesday
President Alexander Gonzalez will host the annual town hall meeting on the University’s budget at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 18 in the University Union Hinde Auditorium. The event will feature an overview of the 2006-07 campus budget and provide an opportunity for the campus community to ask questions. As in past years, the latest budget overview information has been posted online at www.csus.edu/aba/budget, where there are also budget documents dating back to 2001. Click “Campus General Fund Budget” or “Budget Briefings” on the left-hand navigation bar.

Higher education bond on upcoming ballot

Voters in Sacramento and across the state will go to the polls to vote on Nov. 7, and among numerous candidates and measures they will be asked to consider will be Proposition 1D, the Kindergarten-University Public Education Facilities Bond Act of 2006.

Holocaust survivor shares his memories and more
Author and Holocaust survivor David Faber carries his memories on his arm and in his heart. The tattoo, a number on his left forearm—161051—is Faber’s constant companion as he writes, travels and speaks about his time spent in German concentration camps. His stories are also about survival and a vow he made to his mother to tell the world about the horrors of war and prejudice.

Theatre and Dance celebrates 50 years of performances
1956 was a banner year in entertainment and the arts. I Love Lucy was the most popular television show in the country, Elvis Presley was making rock and roll a national phenomenon, My Fair Lady made its debut on Broadway, and Sacramento State’s Department of Theatre and Dance put on its first production, Arthur Miller’s The Crucible.

Ski and Snowboard Enthusiasts Swap Gear
New and used ski and snowboard equipment, clothing and accessories will be on sale at the 41st Annual Sacramento State Ski and Snowboard Swap on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom. Admission is $15 at 8:30 a.m., $7 at 10 a.m., $5 high school and college students (with i.d.) at 10 a.m. Ages 12 and under are free. Free Sugar Bowl lift tickets for the first 800 paying attendees.
