AA meetings
Open on-campus Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held on Wednesdays at noon in the University Union Oak Room. All discussions at AA meetings are kept confidential.

Get walking
Walkfit Sac State is a free group walking program open to students, staff and faculty. The group meets Mondays at 5:15 p.m. on the quad at the Residence Halls. On Wednesdays at 5:15 p.m. they meet at the base of the stairs at the Guy West Bridge.

Spring fee waivers due
Fee Waiver and Reduction forms for the Spring 2006 semester have been distributed by Human Resources. The deadline for submission of the completed forms and appropriate supplemental documents is Friday, Nov. 4.

Open enrollment extended
The open enrollment deadline has been extended to Oct. 31. Individuals who wish to make a change in their benefits have until the end of the month to authorize a new enrollment or change of enrollment for Health, Dental, Flex Cash, Health Care Reimbursement Account, Dependent Care Account and/or the Tax Advantage Premium Plan benefits. All open enrollment transactions are effective Jan. 1.

The Human Resources Benefits Office is holding a pair of Retirement Planning Workshops:

  • Social Security and Medicare, 9 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday Nov. 1, University Union Lobby Suite
  • CalPERS Retirement Planning, 9 to 11:30 a.m., Nov. 10, University Union Forest Suite

Research newsletter available
The first issue of Research and Sponsored Projects News is available at www.csus.edu/rsp/RSP_News.htm. The newsletter will be published monthly and will highlight grant programs and sponsors' resources, announce upcoming events and workshops, feature currently funded faculty projects, and provide information on activities associated with the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects and Grants and Contracts Administration.

Nominate an employee
Nominations are being accepted for the Staff Employee Recognition Award. A new cycle has been started for this year and as a result none of the nominations submitted previously are valid.

Date change for physics talk
The Physics Colloquium scheduled for Nov. 3 featuring Daniel Palanker has been moved to Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. in Mendocino Hall 1015.
