CSU presidents encourage students to apply before Nov. 30
Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez
Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez and CSU Dominguez Hills President Mildred Garcia held a teleconference with the Spanish-speaking media at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, urging prospective students to apply for college by Nov. 30.
As a result of the state’s economic crisis and a $564 million cut to the CSU budget for this year, the system is forced to reduce enrollment by approximately 40,000 students over the next two years. Applicants who are well prepared for college and apply early have the best chances for admission. Nov. 30 is the deadline for applying.
Gonzalez noted that more help than ever is available for students in the way of financial aid. He also fielded questions from the press.
