I live with my family in Davis, but I was born in Chennai, India and lived for 32 years in different cities in India such as Poona and Jabalpur.
Area of expertise?
Microwave engineering with emphasis on design of antenna systems for hyperthermia treatment of cancer (heating the tumor volume to a temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, which makes it less resistant following radiation or chemotherapy.)
Educational background?
I have a bachelor’s degree in and master’s degree from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai; and a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India.
What’s your music preference?
I listen to ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s film theme music on the radio and Internet.
Favorite book (or last read)?
Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie.
Favorite city to visit?
Chennai, India.
Who most influenced you to become a teacher?
I was influenced by my school teachers and parents. My motivation as a teacher is to explain complex engineering concepts in a simple manner. |
