Hornets take on Aggies in Causeway Classic

It’s rivalry week in the Sacramento region as the Sacramento State Hornets take on the UC Davis Aggies in the 56th annual Causeway Classic football game, 2:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at Hornet Stadium.

The Alumni Center will host a tailgate party and pregame barbecue at noon Saturday, Nov. 21, at The Alumni Center for faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members.

Ludy's BBQ will cater the event and will provide a barbecue plate with chicken, tri-tip, beans, green salad, rolls and a beverage for $10. Tailgating activities will also include music, bounce houses and face painting.

Associated Students, Inc., will host its first Causeway Classic rally 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Library Quad. The event will include comments from Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, head football coach Marshall Sperbeck and ASI President Roberto C. Torres.

The rally is free for students and will feature a performance by Sacramento State’s marching band, a student-based talent show and the kick-off of this semester’s sweatshirt exchange program.

The first 500 students at the rally will receive a free ASI T-shirt. Students wearing the shirt to the Causeway Classic game will be entered into a drawing for a free Wii.

Tickets for the game may be purchased at the Sacramento State Ticket Office during the week, and tickets can also be purchased at www.tickets.com or by calling 278-4323. The ticket office at Hornet Stadium will open at 11:30 a.m. on game day.

Sacramento State faculty and staff will receive a $5 discount on tickets by presenting their OneCard at the time of purchase.
