The
Sacramento State choirs will present the annual concert “A Procession
of Carols” to be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3
at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church on 39th and J Streets.
The program, featuring
carols from around the world, candlelit processions, a narrative by English
Professor Richard Adams and an audience sing along, is a popular local favorite.
Buying tickets in advance is strongly suggested.
"The annual
Sac State Procession of Carols concert attracts a dedicated crowd of guests
who look forward to this special concert to mark the official beginning of their
holiday season," says Sacramento State professor and director of Choral
Activities Donald Kendrick. “We bring new music to the event each year,
but we also perform certain pieces that have become traditional favorites for
our choirs and audience members."
“This year
we celebrate our brand new organ at Sacred Heart Church that will make the audience
sing-along carols even more thrilling and uplifting."
Tickets for all
performances are $10 general, $5 students and seniors. Tickets are available
from the Sacramento State Ticket Office at 278-4323 or Tickets.com.
