Celeste Roseberry-McKibben, Speech Pathology and Audiology, had an article published titled, “Assessment and Intervention Guidelines for Service Delivery to Low-SES Children,” in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Division 16 newsletter, Perspectives on School-Based Issues.

Joseph A. Palermo, History, gave a book talk for C-SPAN Book TV on Dec. 9 at the Avid Reader in Sacramento where he discussed his new book, Robert F. Kennedy and the Death of American Idealism (Pearson 2008). The show should air in two to six weeks.

Stanislaus Dundon, Philosophy Emeritus, presented a day-long training for teachers on, "Ethics in the Defense of the Human Person," dealing principally with medical and biotechnological assaults on dignity and uniqueness of the  human individual at the Sacramento Catholic Diocesan Pastoral Center, Dec. 8.

Robin Datel and Michael Schmandt, Geography, were quoted on Nov. 11 in the Sacramento Bee about a development idea for the rail yard to help enhance the downtown area.

George Jouganatos, Economics, was interviewed on Oct. 30 on Capital Public Radio about Sacramento’s future housing market; and on Nov. 13 on Capital Public Radio about how the downturn in housing and higher gas prices will affect Christmas season spending.

Robert Waste, Public Policy and Administration, was interviewed on Nov. 1 on Capital Public Radio about what it would take to get a new arena downtown.

Ruth Ballard, Biological Sciences, was interviewed on Nov. 12 on KXTV News 10, and quoted on Nov. 10 in the Sacramento Bee and on Nov. 2 in the Sacramento Union about creating a DNA database in Tanzania, Africa.

Ted Lascher, Public Policy and Administration, was quoted on Nov. 13 on KOVR Ch. 13 about Sacramento hosting the Latino Film Festival.

Anthony Platt, Social Work, was quoted on Nov. 8 in the Sacramento Bee about the controversial beliefs of historical figure Charles M. Goethe, for whom a Sacramento park is named

Cheryl Osborne, Nursing, was quoted Nov. 13 in the Sacramento Bee about the percentages of volunteers at the Methodist Hospital who are 80 and older.

Barbara O’Connor, Communication Studies, was quoted on: Nov. 1 in Santa Rosa’s Press Democrat about the effectiveness of YouTube for politicians; on Nov. 4 in the Los Angeles Times about the federal investigation into possible corruption by state Senate leader Don Perata; on Nov. 8 in the San Francisco Chronicle about city mayor Gavin Newsom and his goals as mayor; on Nov. 7 in the Long Beach Press Telegram, Woodland Hill’s Daily News and Torrance’s Daily Breeze about billions in water bonds being unspent; and on Nov. 7 in Santa Rosa’s Press Democrat about the online Glassbooth quiz that matches presidential candidates with a person’s responses on key issues.

Robert Ortbal, Art, was quoted on Nov. 9 in Placerville’s Mountain Democrat about an art exhibit at Sacramento State that allows students to work with artists.

Dennis Tootelian, Business Administration, was interviewed on Nov. 23 on KOVR Ch. 13 about why there will be bargains on toys and electronics during seasonal shopping.

Liam Murphy, Anthropology, was quoted on Nov. 30 in The Chronicle of Higher Education about why young scholars of anthropology may not publicize their participation in a Human Terrain Team.

Nick Trujillo, Communication studies, was quoted on Nov. 23 in the Sacramento Union about the formal dress drive, “Cinderella’s Closet,” a project that originated from one of his communication class assignments.

Ian Harvey, Art, was quoted on Nov. 23 in the Sacramento Union about the art exhibit, “Field of Life—The Body in Contemporary Korean Art.”

Alberto Esquivel, Business Administration, was quoted on Nov. 1 in Capitol Weekly about the current housing market trends.

James Hernandez, Criminal Justice, was quoted on Nov. 15 in the Sacramento News and Review about possible evidence of racism in a court case in which a man was beaten by police officers.

Stephen Brock, Special Education, Rehabilitation, School Psychology and Deaf Studies, was quoted on Nov. 12 in the San Francisco Chronicle about post-traumatic stress disorder contributing to achievement gaps among children.

Tim Hodson, Center for California Studies, was quoted on Nov. 11 in the San Mateo Co. Times and on Nov. 9 in the Contra Costa Times about the difficulties Gov. Schwarzenegger and Democrats face in trying to placate opponents on a health care plan.
