Staff Appreciation Picnic
The Staff Appreciation Picnic is 11:30 a.m.-1-30 p.m. Friday, June 4, in the main quad in front of the Riverfront Center. The Picnic Committee is looking for donations for door prizes and drawings. 

Donation ideas include artwork, crafts, small gift items and gift cards. For more information or to donate, contact Cossette Leos at or call 278-7001. Donations are due by Friday, May 28.

Energy meeting
Congresswoman Doris Matsui will sponsor a presentation highlighting federal funding and financing opportunities available to Sacramento’s clean tech businesses 10 a.m. Thursday, June 3, at the Alumni Center.

Appearing with the congresswoman will be Steve Spinner, a Department of Energy Small Business Loan Guarantee Program advisor. He will discuss the department's Recovery Act efforts and the Department of Energy's Loan Guarantee Program.

Football season tickets
Hornet football tickets for the 2010 season are available at or call 278-2222.

The Hornets open the season with an away game against Stanford Sept. 4. The home opener is Sept. 11 against Western Oregon. Other home games include Weber State, Montana State, Northern Colorado and Portland State. The annual Causeway Classic will be held at UC Davis Nov. 20. Fans who purchase season tickets will have the first opportunity to buy tickets for the Stanford and UC Davis games.

Book Swap
The Student Health Center and the WELL are sponsoring a book swap.  Bring in used books by Wednesday, June 2 to the Student Health Services room 122. Leftover books will be donated to the Sacramento SPCA annual book sale.  Donations are not required, but are appreciated. Individuals may also donate items to the SSPCA from their wish list.  For more information, please contact Jessica Heskin at 8-3799 or or visit for items to be donated.

Ice Cream Safari
Sac State Serves will take part in the Ice Cream Safari at the Sacramento Zoo, Saturday, July 24. Volunteers are needed to help set up, scoop ice cream, paint faces and serve refreshments for this fundraiser for the Sacramento Zoo. The event is open to volunteers age 15 or over.

Catastrophic Leave Donation Program  
Sacramento State employees may voluntarily donate to other employees up to a maximum of 40 hours of sick or vacation leave credits in one-hour increments each fiscal year. Bargaining Units 1, 10 and 11 may donate only up to 16 hours per fiscal year. If employees are interested in donating time, a form can be obtained at, or visit the Human Resources Disability Leaves office in Sacramento Hall 162 or call 278-3522.
