Memorial service for Patricia Sonntag
In response to numerous requests for information regarding services for Pat Sonntag, her family has advised the campus that there will be no public memorial service. However, her family is working closely with the campus to plan a fall memorial service. Donations in her honor may be made to any of the following organizations: California Disability Action Network, American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.

Construction activities
Portions of parking lot 8 are out of service due to the construction of a new access road from State University Drive South (near the south Information Booth) to Parking Structure III. The access road will be complete and lot 8 will be in full service before the start of the fall semester.

The University is expanding many of the underground utilities and some of the digging will require disruption to pathways and roads. Every effort will be made to minimize these disruptions. Facilities Management apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates the patience and continued cooperation of the campus community during this phase of these improvements to the University’s infrastructure.

University Center Restaurant summer buffet
Enjoy a summertime lunch with a patriotic 4th of July theme from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22. The menu includes braised beef tips, chicken piccata, grilled polenta with roasted vegetables, and assorted gourmet salads. Top it off with build-your-own ice cream sundaes. Togo's offers expanded menu
University Enterprises Dining Services announces that the on-campus Togo's is offering a new catering menu. This convenient, thrifty alternative allows groups to place “to go” orders and pick up healthy and delicious Togo's sandwiches, salads and accompaniments. Everything from appetizer trays and 3- to 8-foot sandwiches to boxed lunches and yummy desserts are available. Learn more and see the new menu online at

Shop the Hornet Bookstore
As the official bookstore of Sacramento State, the Hornet Bookstore is spirit headquarters for a wonderful selection of University memorabilia. Class schedules made easy
A new tool to help make class scheduling simpler is available to students by using the Sac State Scheduler. This is an easy to use, web-based product that will help students quickly schedule classes and other important activities before registering on CasperWeb. With the Sac State Scheduler, students can search for and select courses by accessing the online Class Schedule. This tool will find all possible schedule combinations. Students can just tell it what they want and customize it their way. It will tell them when they can or can’t take a class.

Once students have chosen their preferred classes, they should check back in with the Sac State Scheduler right before their registration appointment to make sure all their requested classes are still available. Sac State Scheduler is available now at

Free concert
A free South Indian classical music concert, featuring the violin trio of Shri V.L. Sudharsan, Kesav Raghavan and Govind Raghavan along with Shriram Brahmanandam on mridangam will take place at 8 p.m., Friday, June 23 in the Music Recital Hall.

Clean energy event
The first round of CleanStart's PowerUP! business plan competition will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., June 28 at Modoc Hall. Twenty “clean energy” innovators will compete for $50,000. The event is open to the public. For more information, visit CleanStart's website at

Fee waiver for CSU Summer Arts
CSU Summer Arts returns to the California State University, Fresno campus in July with a monthlong program of workshops and performances in music, dance, visual arts, drama, creative writing, media arts and art education. Classes are designed so that students, professionals and serious amateurs can work closely with world-class master teachers and guest artists. Two-week workshops are offered and three units of college credit are available.

Faculty and staff at all 23 California State University campuses are invited to participate by taking advantage of a fee-waiver deal. The cost is $3, plus course materials fees, if applicable. Fee-waiver application forms are available at Human Resources and must be approved by the applicant's home campus and submitted upon receipt of a bill for enrollment fees.
