Information Resources and Technology’s open forums
University faculty and staff are invited to attend the Information Resources & Technology Division’s open forum for the position of Operations & System Services Director on June 23 and 24. During the forum, the candidates will make presentations on the topic of, “A Vision for the Future of University Data Centers,” and answering faculty and staff questions. Both forums will be held in Library 11. The candidates and forum dates and times are:

Hayden and Watson retirement reception updates

Camera retiring
Lou Camera, director of Student Activities, is retiring after 21 years of service to Sacramento State students. A Mardi Gras-themed reception will be held for him on Tuesday, July 8, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the University Restaurant in the University Union. Funding Alert available online
The June issue of Funding Alert is now available. This newsletter is published monthly to alert the campus community to possible sources of external support for research, scholarly and creative activities. Both an abbreviated listing and a more detailed version are available on the web at

This month’s highlights include an announcement by the Commerce Department and targeted funding opportunity notices in the following areas: arts, humanities, education, community development, health, mental health, science and engineering.

Catastrophic Leave
Sacramento State employees may voluntarily donate to other employees up to a maximum of 40 hours of sick or vacation leave credits each fiscal year in one-hour increments. Bargaining Units 1, 8, 10 and 11 may only donate up to 16 hours per fiscal year. If employees are interested in donating time, a donation form can be obtained at, or by visiting the Human Resources Disability Leaves office in Sacramento Hall 162, or by calling 278-3522.
